Come and celebrate the works and life of Robert Burns, Scottish poet and lyricist, most famous for “Auld Lang Syne”, and “My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose”. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland. Also known as Rabbie Burns, the Bard of Ayrshire, and the Ploughman Poet.

His poem “Address to a Haggis” shall be solemnly read as the King of Sausage is escorted to our buffet table to the music of the piper. It shall have a place of honor among complementary dishes from the “old country”, such as, Tatties and Neeps, and Cock-a-Leekie Soup, as well as a variety of pot-luck fare.

Thanks to all of you who were able to share the Family Christmas Service, and the Christmas Candlight Service, with us on Monday.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON

Plantation Presbyterian Woman’s Association

The Miamians joined us for out Annual Christmas Luncheon, providing Holiday entertainment for our guests. The pot-luck buffet was overflowing with delicious home-made fare, and the afternoon was topped off by THE Secret Santa Circle gift exchange. It was a warm and wonderful afternoon enjoyed by all who attended.

The Bob and Liilian Potter’s Children’s Christmas Party

Our annual children’s Christmas event was great fun! Parents and children enjoyed a Christmas themed confections and snack buffet, crafts, and happy chatter, all while waiting for Santa and Mrs. Clause to arrive in their fancified golf cart! (Reindeer don’t like our weather much, so Santa gave them the day off!) Mrs. C. handed out candy canes and helped empty the big red sack, while Santa made sure that every one of the kiddies got their very own special Christmas present .

Rocking Christmas 2018 with the Miamians with Ernie de la Fe,Stephen L Rosen, Ann Prystacky, Arne Themmen,Christopher Railey, Lewis Geer, Joel Rifkin, William Winkelmann, Dominic Lamberti, Mike Verdesca,Steve Friedland, Jim Royand, Alex Rubina… in no particular order.

We all had a marvelous time together on Friday the 7th with the Miamians, who performed their Rocking Christmas 2018 show for church members and guests. Following the superb singing and entertaining patter, we all retired to the Fellowship Hall for fun, food, and frolic. As promised, the Ugly Sweaters competed for that fabulous peanut brittle prize. You’re welcome, Al!

Thanks to all who participated in the planning and preparation for out little Christmas gala. Let’s do it again next year!

The rummage sale garnered a whopping $5500 for the Plantation Presbyterian Women’s Association! We were able to provide help to Miami Rescue Mission, a Venezuala Relief Organization, and the Helen B. Hoffman Library by re-gifting items we were unable to sell.
